Frequently asked questions

How many screws per panel?

Usually two or three across the panel width, with calottes on top of the trapezoidal wave. A structure thicker than 12 mm needs special self-tapping screws with a formed thread, and concrete needs expansion anchors or screws with a special thread.

Is an ordinary screwdriver enough?

No. You need a screwdriver with a guiding nose and a depth stop - otherwise the screw goes in too deep, the panel sheet dishes and the washer no longer presses.

Do I have to use the manufacturer’s accessories?

The manufacturer warranty applies when the sheet is fitted with the manufacturer accessories and to the instructions. Cheaper screws with a poorer EPDM washer start letting water through after a few years, and cutting with an angle grinder overheats the coating and voids the warranty entirely. That is why we always suggest ordering the accessories together.

How do I work out how much is needed?

Send us the roof dimensions or a drawing and we will prepare a list with quantities. Screws are usually needed at 6-8 per square metre of slope, but the exact number depends on the roof shape and the amount of flashing.
