Frequently asked questions

Is a snow guard really necessary?

Steel roofing is smooth, so snow slides off it all at once and with great weight. A barrier is essential above entrances, paths, parking spaces and wherever there is a gutter below - a sliding mass of snow simply tears it off.

Do I have to use the manufacturer’s accessories?

The manufacturer warranty applies when the sheet is fitted with the manufacturer accessories and to the instructions. Cheaper screws with a poorer EPDM washer start letting water through after a few years, and cutting with an angle grinder overheats the coating and voids the warranty entirely. That is why we always suggest ordering the accessories together.

How do I work out how much is needed?

Send us the roof dimensions or a drawing and we will prepare a list with quantities. Screws are usually needed at 6-8 per square metre of slope, but the exact number depends on the roof shape and the amount of flashing.
