Frequently asked questions

Which KARO size should I choose?

The size affects only the scale of the pattern, not durability. 555 × 555 mm is the boldest: on large surfaces it reads most calmly and fits faster, because fewer pieces are needed. For a finer pattern choose 345 or 245.

Is a full deck needed?

Yes. KARO panels hang on solid decking (OSB boards or coated boarding), not on spaced battens. That base costs more than for a tile profile, but it is essential: it is what holds every panel individually.

Are there starter panels?

Yes. A triangular starter panel is made for every size - it is essentially half of a main panel. It goes in the bottom course and along the edges so the diamond pattern starts on a straight line instead of cut corners. You will find them in this same category.

What sheet thickness?

The standard is 0.50 mm, and it is made in all three coatings. The thicker 0.70 mm sheet is available only with the PS25 coating and a narrower colour palette - you can see it in the colour table.

Why is at least a 22° pitch needed?

The panels are laid in a diamond pattern and overlap at the corners, so water has to run off quickly. 22° is the minimum limit - for a shallower roof choose standing-seam or tile-profile roofing.

Can I get a colour sample?

Yes. We send a sample by post or show it in person - on screen a colour always looks different from coated steel.
