Coatings and warranties
Warranty length and colour choice depend on the coating, not the steel. Colour on screen is always approximate - we will send a sample before you order.
Coating shade can vary slightly between raw-material batches. If you are adding to an existing order or need an exact shade - tell us when you order.

Frequently asked questions
Why a steel batten rather than timber?
Steel does not burn, rot, warp or work loose over time - so the covering stays flat. A timber batten is cheaper, but it needs a dry environment and it is combustible.
Which height should I choose?
The height sets the ventilation gap under the covering and the distance the batten spans between supports. Ω 20 suits dense decking, Ω 50 a sparser one.
Can I get them coated?
Yes. As standard they are supplied galvanised, but they are also made with a polyester coating in RAL colours - usually when the batten stays visible.
